A man driving a car with diplomatic plates on Saturday struck and damaged the steps of the Angel of Independence, said the Ministry of Public Security of the Federal District (SSPDF).

The culprit was identified as Dih Yeon Kim, 26 years old and allegedly Korean citizen, who was driving a car Nissan Platina model, color sand, CST009 plates.

The man, who presumably traveled while intoxicated, said work at the Korean Embassy in Mexico and after the accident was made available to the authorities.

The incident occurred shortly after 4:00 am when the man lost control of the car and invaded the steps of the Angel of Independence, causing damage that will be evaluated. Mgg
